Wow two rants in one day. Anyway this one is about the new movie Brave. Well lets start at the beginning. They added new sounds to the Pixar lamp thing!? Why? Okay it starts out fine. The father gives her daughter a bow for her birthday. The girl run far far in to the woods to get her arrow that could not have gone that far into the woods. I mean come on people kids are not that strong. Anyway after that she gets her arrow back and she follows, Navi? What the heck are those? Well the movie tells you what they are, not how they came to be and why they do what they do. Watch out, the a bear attacks, and the mother for some reason grabs her child and runs. Like Ice Age, the first one. Ripoff 1.
Then on to a montage for what, what what is going on. Time passed? She's a princess, how, when did this happen? I must have missed something. She says that one day a year she can not be a princess and be herself. What day is this? Is it your birthday? Is it a holiday? This was never answered. Now she has three brother. Who do not appear in the movie mush, actually if they do it is only for a minute or two then they are gone, till needed. O yeah, some annoying unnecessary characters. Speaking of which, what was up with the lady that screamed all the time? What was her reason for being their? was she a maid? Or was she just to act like a chicken with her head cut off? I'm getting a head of myself here.
So now she is a princess and has to act like one. She does not want to. She acts like a spoiled brat in stead cause she has mommy issues. Soon she pouts cause she has to marry someone she does not know or love. She runs off to pout and follows, Navi look-a-likes to a witches house. She buys the whole store and a potion. That turns her mother into a bear. Ripoff Brother Bear much! Ripoff 2. Oh yeah ripoff 3 is the hunger games. She wields a bow too and ripoff 4 is How to Train you Dragon. Cause they have the same one lagged man doing the voice of another one legged, (the father) also they are vikings. The final ripoff is Tangled. How, she is a princess with the hair that bounces and is in your face. I forgot the other reasons why. The whole plot to the move, what their was of one, was easy to see and understood the moment you where told what was to be done to break the spell on the mom.
Freaky Friday had the same thing. Mom and daughter have to learn to see through each other eyes. So on and so fourth.
The brothers appear again to help get the bear, their mom, out of the castle and wont appear till close to the end of the movie.
Also the fight scene in the movie, before the archery scene, can be taken out and not effect the plot or story at all. It was only their to put some action into an action less film.
The mom became a bear by eating a piece of a cupcake that the witch gave the main character. Then she leaves the mostly uneaten cupcake on the table and the three kids eat the cupcake, thus turning into uncute cubs. They could have be adorable but they really did not look right.
I was watching a poor quality video so the big fight/chase scene at the end was hard to see. Even with the lights out.
So the mother become human again at the end of the move after the daughter says I'm sorry a few time. Then it made her brother human to? What? But what the witch said about the spell, does it not apply to children too???? What the heck!?
So their you have it. Brave. The movie title does not really apply to the movie and not hero was made. Like the trailer says. She just came to her sense and say that her mother was not bad, just kind and always their for her even when she did not know it. Her brother where more annoying then helpful and caused unfunny trouble. Plus something done in the movie where for adult audiences. At least two thing where put in for adults. So do they not think that CHILDREN are seeing this movie. Yes, they where not bad, per say, but the fact that they where their says something not right. Don't worry children should not get it.
I will say that the location and the accents where good. They did lose them at points but they did not sound easy to do. It was nice to see a kids movie not located in New York or in America. Though their have been a few not located in America. It is a fine kids movie and the young whippersnappers will enjoy it.
So I hope that know ones is mad at me for this rant, or the one before. These are all based on my thoughts alone. You are free to disagree or agree with me. Just please don't hate me. I hope you enjoy this movie, even though it was lacking in many ways and riding on the coat tails of Tangled. The movie does rap up it story nicely. No plot holes that I could find well, aside from the Navi look-a-like and the one day a year she can be who she wants to be. It was a nice story. The learning and sounding like her mom bit was not bad. It showed that she was growing as a girl and learning to.
So that is it. Please don't hate me for what I said, but I do what to hear you thoughts on the movie and all.
